We are glad to introduce our newest member of our team Mr. Rodney P Hunt. Mr. Hunt was the founder of RS Information Systems, one of the Washington area’s largest African-American-owned government contractors. A company that began over 1 5 years ago with a $5,000 contract from the General Services Administration to provide tech support for small businesses. A firm that rapidly grew past its minority and small disadvantaged business status into a company with more than $300 million in annual revenue, and spawned a joint venture that in 2005 won a $1 billion contract from the Energy Department. RSIS became one of the premier federal IT providers in the region, in part because of its designation as a priority minority and small business. Mr. Hunt later sold the company for 2.5 billion.

Rodney Paul Hunt is a man born into an impoverished family, who through the challenges of life, the strife of society; and, the battles of business, a highly successful black entrepreneur who achieved unparallel success in the government contracting arena.

His story is intriguing, interesting, and insightful as we consider the struggle of the African American over the last five hundred years.  Since the capture and enslavement of Africans, the concept of “freedom” seemed unattainable for all peoples of color. His perseverance, drive, dedication and determination to make a better life for his family is unwavering.  That principal commitment, together with a purposeful passion, led to unparalleled accomplishments and accolades in the fields of technology, business, and entrepreneurship among minority small business owners.

Never fearful of challenge and focused on opportunities that seemed impossible to others, this man took a company from $52,000 in revenue in 1992 to unheard of growth that resulted in 2008 combined revenue and backlog of nearly two billion dollars.  Additionally, he parlayed his business success by capturing a $1.7 billion joint venture contract, the first of its kind led by a small minority firm.

A few of the accolades and recognitions attained by Hunt and his company are:

Small Business Administration Person of the Year – 1999

Entrepreneur of the Year – 1998 – Ernst & Young

Executive of the Year – 2004 by the Professional Services Council

Technology Excellence

Contractor of the Year (11 agencies including NASA, DOE and DOT) – 2003

Small Business Ethics Award

Never forgetting his humble beginnings and the struggle of those less fortunate, Hunt established a foundation focused on encouraging our youth in academic and athletic areas; supporting the working class with assistance and opportunities; inspiring people from all walks of life interested in business ownership with mentoring programs; cared for the families of the veterans lost in battle and elderly in need of care and comfort; and donated to and personally participated in  medical research focused on cures.

We are are glad to have him on our team. I know the hands of God is on his life he brings a missing element to our executive team. To help our company to a place were God wants it to be we glad to have me
